Johannes Brahms competition in the Strad and other media

The 30th Johannes Brahms competition was noticed in many media all over the world, like the Strad, the ORF, the violin channel and “Bravo”, japanese classical music website (the links under).
I am very impressed of the performances of the young players in the competition. I congratulate the winners and wish all the best for the musical career of each participant!

Johannes Brahms Competition

Today starts the 30th Johannes Brahms Competition in Pörtschach am Wörthersee in Austria. I am very proud to be part of the violin jury. In next few days we will hear 1st round performances of 51 violinists; Bach and Paganini. Brahms will be heard on later rounds. Altogether there are four categories in the competition this year: violin, viola, piano and chamber music. The participants come from more than 20 nations.

Metamorphosen of Richard Strauss

I will be among the 23 string players of Kärntner Sinfonieorchester, who play the Metamorphosen of Richard Strauss during the opening concert of the Millstatt Musicwochen. The concert will be conducted by Gábor Hontvári.
Orchester für Alle

String duo Kleio will be playing among during the Orchester für Alle – initiative of the professional orchestras of Austria in order to bring the music near people.
Sibelius “Voces Intimae”

In the end concert of the Lieto Chamber Music days we will play with the Odyssseus String Quartett the amazing “Voces Intimae” quartett of Sibelius. In the concert will be also other Finnish music, including a world premiere!
Vivaldi Seasons
