Finnish Christmas Music
The Church of Paimio is hosting a Christmas concert the 5th of December. As it is just one day before the 100th independency day of Finland, we are happy to present with soprano Laura Vire and pianist Saana Iljin a program with finnish classical and Christmas music.
The concert starts at 18:30, entrance is free, programs 5€. Welcome!
A concert by Stringduo-Kleio
This autumn I have performed a lot of finnish chamber music, including some chamber music concerts of Lappeenranta city orchestra, as well as the concert of Duo-Kleio at Stockholm.
The next concert of Duo-Kleio takes place next Sunday the 26th of November at Lappeenranta. The concert is titled “From Finland to Austria with chamber music”. We start with music by B. Crusell, the first widely known finnish musician and composer. And we end the concert with lovely little pieces by the austrian violinist-composre F. Kreisler. In the middle there is for example a solo violin suite by a swedish baroque composer, H. Roman.
The concert starts at 15:00 at Lappeen Maria church. You are warmly welcome!
Tchaikovsky and Atterberg
The autumn season of Lappeenranta city orchestra will be opened the 11th of August. The gala concert includes pieces played by the orchestra and soloists. I will play the Valse-Scherzo op. 34 by Tchaikovsky. With my husband, Ivan Podyachev, we perform a rarely heard pearl of Swedish music, the Suite No. 3 Op. 19 for violin, viola and orchestra by Kurt Atterberg. It’s composed in 1917, the same year that Finland became an independent country, exactly 100 years ago! Other solos will be played still by Eeva-Maria Pykäläinen, Santeri Kaksonen and Aleksi Mäkimattila, and the concert is conducted by our cheaf conductor, Vytautas Lukočius. The concert starts at 7 p.m. at Kehruuhuone. Welcome!
Vivaldi Four Seasons
I have pleasure to work again with the Hämeenlinna City Orchestra. This time we perform one of the most loved baroque compositions, the Four Seasons of Vivaldi. It has been great to explore this work once again, this time as an entity of four violin concertos. I’m looking forward the co-operation with the orchestra and conductor Kara Koskinen, and experiencing the wonderful acoustics of Hauho church. The concert will be the 6th of June at 7 p.m. Welcome!

Mozambique
I’m participating the Maputo classical music season 9.-14.5. The past three days in Mozambique have been busy with concerts, lessons and rehearsals. Yesterday performing two pieces of Sibelius in a gala concert was a great experience. Working and playing with the local young musicians has been really rewarding. Music is indeed an international language! I’m still looking forward chamber music concerts, that we are going to play with a very international group of visiting artists – as well as more music making with the youngsters!

Duo Kleio at Tallinn
Our String duo Kleio has a concert in Tallinn at the Church of holy spirit “Püha vaimu” the 24th of April. In the program there’s compositions by Mozart, Sibelius, Glazunov, Corelli and a very rarely performed “Duo concertante” by Paganini.
We had a pleasure to perform the same program already on last Sunday the 9th of April at the church of Lappee for a big enthusiastic audience!

The Soldier’s Tale
Next Thursday, the 23rd of February we are performing at Lappeenranta hall Stravinsky’s ‘Soldier’s Tale’. Kai Lehtinen will join as an actor the septet of our orchestra, and my violin has a special role in the story too. The other number in the concert will be Stravinsky’s Danses Concertantes. The concert starts at 7 p.m. Welcome!
New year 2017
Happy new year!
I wish you happiness and special moments!
I’m just starting a two-month-long substitution as the first concertmaster of our orchestra. Interesting, challenging program is ahead.
Our duo solo performance (that I was too busy to mention in the end of last autumn) with Matti Koponen of Sarasate’s Navarra will have continuation in March with music of Schnittke.
The String duo Kleio made a mini-tournee in November at Turku, Helsinki and Lappeenranta. The new program is under preparation and concerts coming at Tallinn for example.
Also baroque concertos will be heard near the summer.
Let’s enjoy music this year!
